committed
I look for those key words in life at times. My new key word is around commitment. When I get really committed to something, I become passionate about it. The key thing is whether I have control over the thing I am committed to. For example, I was committed to doing each Ironman race, and I felt that I was in control of the outcome and had to make many individual choices along the way to achieve my goals. On the other hand, at work, I often do not have control about many aspects of getting something done, so it is hard to get committed, stay committed, and stay passionate. So my advice is to find the things that are important to you, get committed to them, find the passion to achieve your goals, and stay committed. One more thing... it isn't about the words, it has to come from the heart - it has to be something that you think about when you're not thinking about anything else - something you research because you are interested in it, not because you said you were committed, but because you are committed.
