With the podiatrist giving me her blessing to run again, I've started building up the miles again.
It is hard to get out riding much this time of year, but there are virtually no days where running isn't a possibility.
Last week I logged about 35 run miles, with my longest run (8 miles) on Saturday. The plan was to run with the run club at 8am, then ride with the bike club at 9:30. No one showed for the run club (very unusual), so I just did my own thing. When I got home, I felt good enough to ride with the bike club.
Initially my legs felt pretty weak on the bike after running 8 miles, but eventually I started riding well again. A fellow racer happened to be riding and he and I pushed each other (and everyone else) pretty hard all morning.
Later in the afternoon I volunteered some time to help out with the Brians Run registration, and following my Sunday Run with Sena, I braved the cold and rain to man the water stop for the Brians Run race (good thing I showed up, because only the president of the Run club was there).
