I've taken some time off. Ever since the Xterra run I've decided to give my body a break.
Three weeks off and my foot and knee are still not fully recovered - you would think by now, right?!
Since the Xterra race, I have done one 4 mile run and two bike rides 20 miles and 40 miles. I got on the eliptical for 1 hour this week and did about 40 minutes on the bike trainer just now. I have been lifting weights and stretching a fair bit.
So what's next? Well I'm thinking about Brians Run. 6 weeks away - not in great shape. I have never run a 10k faster than 39 minutes - so that might be a good goal. Brians Run is a tough course, but I'm pretty sure I can pull off a sub 39min PR.
Or maybe I'll just relax and enjoy the fall.

resting up
no running this week - the compression socks worked really well for recovery of the achilles and calf muscles / tendons, but my plantar fasciitis is killer - last race really tore it up.
Work was crazy this week, so I really didn't have time to train, just recover - woo hoo!
I did get out for a short (20 mile) bike ride today. I hadn't been on my bike in weeks! Felt good to get out, but my knee is STILL sore - I'm not sure if it will ever recover - crap-ola.
My focus will be on strength, flexibility and recovery for a while. We'll see hot that goes.
A few friends from the TRI-SIG group kicked ass in recent races, which is really great to see. If you're reading this - congrats!!!
Off to the UK in a couple of weeks for business. Time to really buckle down at work - a lot of change - hopefully some opportunity.
